Utah Lake

Saturday, June 30th after attending a baptism of a piano student of mine, we headed out to Utah Lake to spend some time with my family.  My parents came, my sister Jamie and her four kids, my brother's kids, Rohme and Rocco, and my twin sister's kids, Gavin and Bailey, who are here visiting from Orange County.  I didn't get too many pictures since I was in the water, but someone brought a huge blow up trampoline/slide and they let all the kids go down it.  Rohme and Austin went over and over again.  Bryan and my dad both brought their kayaks, and everyone took turns kayaking around the lake.  There's a little sand area and then the water stays shallow for quite a ways out, which made it fun for the kids to be able to go out far.

The boys are out kayaking and Bryan is in the distance on his standup paddle board.  All the kids were jumping on and getting a ride while he steered.

Weston got a mud bath from his brother and cousin.

Exploring a new Park

The boys had fun at this new park in Provo.

Off to See the Wizard

I love all the Groupons and Daily Herald Deals! Without them we couldn't afford to do things like this. I got tickets for $5 each to see The Wizard of Oz at The Scera Shell outdoor theater. The only sad thing was that it was meant to be a family outing, but Bryan was finishing up a project with a deadline and couldn't make it. The boys and I borrowed the book from the library so that they would know the story and we finished it just a few days before seeing the play.

Hiking the Y

Me and a friend, (who is also pregnant and due just 10 days after me), have been hiking the Y every week, and in June we started going twice a week. Sadly, my last time for this pregnancy was June 19th, because my doctor advised me to take it easy and not do anything more strenuous than walking since I had pre-labor with Austin. Here is a picture of me on my 12th time up this pregnancy with just about 12 weeks left!

Austin's Funnies

These might be funnier in person, but this last week Austin looked in the mirror and let out a big sigh and said, "Ah, man! I need to shave!"

I'm not sure if this next one is from a movie, but he keeps saying, "I wish I wasn't adopted!" I think it's from Despicable Me.

He also thinks that, "I need some privacy," means he needs some clothes. So every time he is getting changed or isn't dressed he yells out, "I need some privacy!!"

Enjoying Summer

The first week of summer was a success. I only had a few make-up piano lessons on Tuesday and then took off the rest of the week, and just had my medical transcription to worry about. But, since it's summer I let the boys sleep in a little longer and can get most of my work done early and also when they go to bed. So we did a lot of fun things! We went to the Manila park in Pleasant Grove where they have that Children's Discovery playground that the boys just love. We have the Pass of All Passes this year and went to Seven Peaks twice and to Trafalga. The boys are lovin' Seven Peaks. It is crazy crowded, but still fun. At Trafalga they tried miniature golf for the first time. We also saw Dr. Seuss: The Lorax at Movies 8, helped clean the church, went to our Stake Picnic, and went to the library for the summer reading kick-off program. Bryan was in New York for a few days for a job he is doing and missed all our fun. Austin is funny.... He said, "We sure are having a lot of fun while Daddy's gone!" If I thought about it sooner, I would have gone with Bryan since I wasn't teaching, but by the time I checked back on the ticket price they had tripled! It's been almost 5 years since I've been and I would love to go in the Spring or Fall, since I went in December.
I'm not sure if I can say much about the project he is working on now, but when he's done I'll be sure to post a link or the set of images he is working on. They are going to be great! He gets to work on post production the entire week..... and I mean the ENTIRE week in order to make the deadline..... So we won't be seeing much of him this week either. Hopefully once this project is done he can enjoy the summer with us and join us at Seven Peaks. I think we will be spending a lot of time there! Here are a few pics of the week......
